Week Zero: First Chance to be a hero
I know you missed me. See what we've been working on for the last 9 Months
Greetings Fellow Degenerates! I’m back! It’s been a long time! A LOT has changed since the last time we spoke. If you’d allow me to pontificate for a bit, I’d love to tell you what has happened in your beloved Professor’s life in the last few months.
First and foremost, I have to apologize for my extended absence from the community. Not that anyone was missing my outrageous picks, but I’d like to think you missed my bodacious attitude and rapier wit. The Professor decided it was finally time to bet on himself and make a radical change. I quit my job, moved across the country, and started a new one. If you’re anything like me, all it takes is one bad breakup, uncountable bottles of liquor, and threatening letters from the mortgage company to make you do such a crazy thing. It’s been a whirlwind. But I don’t regret a single damn thing. (Other than moving to a state where I have to drive 40 minutes once a week to cross the border to make legal bets….)
So here we are. I’ve made my weekly drive. And although I may not hold the title of Professor any longer, it is still my life’s goal and mission to educate the masses. So before we get to my picks, it’s time for a lesson. This week’s topic? Indigenous People of the Americas.
Specifically, this week, we will focus on the Seminole Tribe. The first group of people to turn the swamp and marsh of America’s wiener into something productive and useful. The word Seminole has a diverse etymology, but obviously, the most badass of those interpretations is “outlaws”. As outcasts and runaways often do, they formed a band of fierce individuals who waged war both internally and externally. The wikipedia read is really worth your time to see how fascinating and tragic their history is. They left enough of a mark that despite being forcefully relocated to the desolate shithole of Oklahoma, Florida State University chose them to represent their school. Which brings me to:
BUZZED BOYDS BOLD BET OF THE WEEK:
ROYDELL WILLIAMS FIRST TOUCHDOWN SCORER +290 (Draft Kings)
This Crimson Tide transfer has the same spirit as the school he represents. Discarded from his former tribe, the senior running back looks to join a team that was absolutely embarrassed in their last game played. They look to prove a point and add evidence for the lawsuit against the ACC. And Roydell is going to blow like that Seminole Wind right over the goal line for the team’s first touchdown.
BE BOLD MY FRIENDS!
(BONUS BOLD BET) My friends and fellow gamblers. Sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes, we make bad picks. Sometimes, we accidentally don’t put the right guard on our razor and ended losing two months of beard in one fail swoop and end up looking like a 12-year-old. If you’re anything like me (and if you’re reading this, I think you are) then fear no more. We have launched Brown Bag Games. While this is a lightweight MVP, we will transform this into the ultimate free-to-play sports gaming experience. Currently, there are two game modes. Super Streak and Bet Battles.
